"What does the ADHD test entail, and how does it compare to other tests?"

Our test is the only FDA-cleared computer-based test that objectively measures  hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattention to give the most valid diagnostic test for ADHD on the market  today. In other words, you'll get a far more accurate diagnosis with our test than a standard assessment (read the full details in the dropdown below) -- even though a large number of those standard assessments are more expensive than ours.

The ‘old’ way of testing for ADHD included IQ tests and tests of achievement, often included personality inventories.  These tests are great, but they don’t measure the core symptoms of ADHD. In fact, IQ and high achievement aren’t correlated with ADHD at all!  These assessments can cost $4000 to $5000. Our assessment protocol is more valid and reliable and costs a fraction of the old school way.  In fact, we have put together packages of testing with world class treatment AND follow up tests to calibrate treatments so we know they are effective for less than the cost of just one old school assessment.

How the Test Works

You will take the test online at your convenience.  Make sure you take it on a computer that has a camera.  It won't work on a tablet or phone.  Make sure you take the test about a day before your scheduled meeting to discuss the results.  Don't take any ADHD medication (stimulant type or non-stimulant type) at least 16 hours prior to taking the test. Any other medications you need to take are okay.

After your test, we'll have a virtual meeting to discuss your results and create your treatment plan. We'll walk you through every step of the way.

"Can I get just a test?"

We realize that it may only seem necessary to do just a single test right now, but from our professional standpoint we assure you that the packages we offer have been thoughtfully crafted to not only meet your ADHD needs, but build supports that will help you avoid the harder, winding path that so many take simply because they opted just for a diagnosis.

With CALIBRATE, you have the companionship of world-class ADHD navigators (our coaching team) who are credentialed experts with decades of experience and the equipment needed to get you where you want to be (and have an enjoyable time in the process).

Let us walk you through the easy process of getting everything you'll need--including everything you didn't know you'll need.

All of that said, we do recognize that there are unique circumstances that require just a test. If this is the case for you, please send an explanation to [email protected], and we will get back to you in short order.

"Will coaching actually make that big of a difference?"

YES. We've created our signature 3-pillar methodology to meet you where you are and help you every step of the way. Start with the data from your diagnostic report, we'll dive in and help you truly understand how ADHD is impacting your life. We'll look at how your brain works and build supports for not only managing, but thriving with your ADHD. Our goal is to help you learn tools and strategies for being your own coach, so you can have a successful life on your own terms.

Here is a brief introduction to our 3 pillars.

Pillar 1. Self-Support

In this pillar, we practice clear and practical ways to be supportive to ourselves.

A lot of us are unreasonably hard on ourselves, which gets us stuck in cycles of guilt, shame, and self-judgement. Some people will tell you that you need to self-reflect... but we know that self-reflection is actually what's keeping you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and really bad about yourself.

Instead, we'll build a support system within you that will help mitigate the effects of guilt, shame, and RSD -- shifting them out of the driver's seat so you can finally trust yourself to take the wheel.

Skills we work on in Self-Support:

Self-trust • Mindfulness • Self-compassion and curiosity • Self-coaching • Setting realistic expectations

Pillar 2. Self-Discovery

This pillar is all about data -- because the more info we get, the more material we have to work with when we’re building systems, structures, strategies, shifts (we need it all!).

We start out with a thorough, comprehensive diagnosis. This will help us understand all of the ways ADHD is impacting your brain so we can make effective decisions about how to support you (rather than guessing or treating you like a cookie cutter).

We then gather input on your likes, dislikes, strengths, values, activators, de-activators, motivators, de-motivators, desires, and how ADHD is impacting you individually.

This allows you to have healthy self discovery, instead of the judgmental, unsafe versions that you’ve probably been using your whole life – whether they come out as people-pleasing, angry outbursts, shutdown, or thoughts like, “I just feel chaotic and can’t get done what I want to get done.”

Skills we work on in Self-Discovery:

Understanding your unique individual ADHD • Stating clearly what you want • Identifying your strengths • Acknowledging your de-motivators

Pillar 3. Tethering

The final pillar is called tethering, where we get very honest about the reality that, as people with ADHD, we most likely aren't as productive, focused, present, dependable as we want to be.

Tethering helps us access and build concrete supports that connect what you want to do with what you need to do. Or in other words, matching your actions to your motivations.

The more tethers we can put in place, the stronger you are going to be. And this will create lifelong change for the better.

Skills we work on in Tethering:

Identifying your needs • Building helpful accountability supports • Accessing  available tools • Establishing effective habits
